TerraformGanymede

Origins

The research project

TerraformGanymede started as a research aggregator for actually terraforming Ganymede, the largest moon of Jupiter. The project collected and organized research on making a distant world more hospitable.

Field work and QuickLogger

Getting to places on Earth to meet and observe the moons of Jupiter required navigation and travel to remote locations. We often left equipment in the field. Keeping track of what was where, and when, became a real problem.

QuickLogger grew out of that need. A simple, offline field logging tool that works without cell signal or Wi-Fi. Scan a code, capture a timestamp, add a note, and move on. It solved our problem, and we think it can solve yours.

Certificates

We also started building our own SSL certificates. The pricing on commercial certificates was astronomical for our needs, so we built a CRL and certificate generation system from scratch.

It took longer to build than initially planned, but the result allows us to provide specific, unique certificates to our community. These certificates are trusted by those who trust the TerraformGanymede certificate authority.

The certificate product is available at a future date.

Today

For now, we have QuickLogger and its companion tools, which we use ourselves and offer to our community. We needed a few projects to get the site rolling, and since we wrote these products, we decided to share them.
